The racing season 2017 was for our team Boddaert W.M.J.F. very confusing and strange.
In the beginning of the year 2017 there were several cases of avian bird flue. The pigeons may not come out and flying around from January until beginning of march.
All youngsters weaned end of January were put in a big aviary before the loft of the youngsters. This system was very well and once they came out, there were almost no problems.
In the meanwhile the old and yearling birds couldn’t fly out for training until half march.
In the second part of march the widowhood-cocks could fly and train around the loft and we started to train them with by car beginning of april.
In april and the first part of may they did their trainingsraces from 100-460 km
The long distance season started for us with the first national long distance race begin june on Limoges.
But unfortunately 2 weeks later they found a case of avian birdflue in Oostkamp, our community where our pigeon-loft is located.
Big problems with a ban of racing at that moment, namely on 15th of june 2017. Which means that we could not anymore basketting our pigeons for a race, even not anymore train them with the car.
This ban due to avian birdlfue stays until the 2nd of july. This means that most of our widowhood team stays at home from 3th of june (national race Limoges I) until 15th of july (national races of Jarnac and international race of Sint-Vincent). At that moment we skipped some race and choose an alternative program for the long distance for the old birds.

Team 1: Limoges I or Tours / Brive / Limoges II / Tulle
Team 2: Limoges II / Jarnac / Tulle or Perpignan
The yearling birds, not really raced as young bird, we putted them on Orleans and then Jarnac and Tulle.
The youngsters are not raced, but they have done 7 trainingsrace until the distance of Orleans
(2 x Arras, 1 x Clermont, 3 x Pontoise and 1 x Orleans)
